Stretch marks are such a pain for the people who have them. They are a representation of puberty in boys and girls. It is a misconception that these marks occur only in girls that too after pregnancy but it is not true they are also very common in boys who are involved in rigorous workout sessions. In some people they are also a representation of hormonal imbalance. Stretch marks can be prevented.

Cosmetic laser surgery may be the best way but since it is very hard on pockets so many people opt other ways to avoid them. The following are the steps that should be followed to cure these marks.

1. People should pay extra care during the early stages of stretch marks. One way can be controlling the weight gain because once they change color from initial red or purple to white or silver their treatment becomes hard.

2. Stretch marks are often found on rough skin types, so people who have rough skin and have stretch marks should apply moisturizing lotion regularly on the stretched areas and massage them properly.

3. Self tanner should be applied in the initial state. This is done to minimize their appearance.

4. Tropical treatments- wheat germ oil is also initial stage oil that is used to lighten them. Use of glycolic acid helps in increasing the production of Collagen in body. Combining vitamin C with glycolic acid gives improved results. Topical tretinoin is used to reduce the size of stretch marks.

5. Laser treatment is a very effective way to get rid of stretch marks.
